As we reach the end of July (in the year of 2017), the films being released this year have been hit or miss, with some being poignant, profitable, and well-received, while others have been dismal, shallow, and flat out box office bombs. And that doesn’t count all the other movies that fall in-between these two extremes.
Another film based on a series of books that I haven’t read so I of course have no knowledge going in. I am aware of the series as it was in the bookcase of my house when I was a kid. I don’t read as much as I should but I kind of want to read it now.
Kathryn Bigelow explores the language of the unheard with latest docudrama. John Boyega plays Melvin Dismukes, a real-life former security guard who played a role in the Algiers Motel incident during the Detroit riots.
As soon as the film was announced, it has gotten nothing but hate. Despite this, I was still willing to give it a chance since an animated film featuring emojis could work but it all depends on its execution.
The trailers for this looked so cool. We haven’t had that many female-led action films so it’s nice to see one now, more so one with Charlize Theron. I’m a big fan of hers and I am excited to see this new side of her.
